Thank God for the dog
Today is one of those days that if I didn’t have a dog, there would have been no way I would have suited up to go out into the frosty, windy morning for a walk. But, my pooch was giving me those sad eyes and look that said, “I want to walk”. So, I put on the three layers of clothes, buttoned up and tied my hood tightly around my face and off we went. The end of our road spells freedom for Oscar. As we crossed through a narrow path, the vast, snowy expanse of land greeted us with a blast of arctic air. At this point of our walk, Oscar gets unleashed and I get the thrill of watching him blast off over the rolling terrain. Despite the frigid temperatures and bitter wind, this moment is one of freedom for both my dog and myself. As I watch him glide over the snowy golf course, I can feel my heart opening in joy. Oscar has helped me remember that each moment holds wonder if we are willing to be present to it. What moments can you be present to today? May you too keep opening your heart to the wonder around you!
