“In daily life we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.” Brother David Steindl-Rast
I couldn’t agree with more the above quote! If we are searching for the proverbially state of happiness, we surely aren’t going to arrive there if that is what we focus on. A far better way to naturally achieve this state of content is to place our attention on all that we are grateful for. As I sit writing this blog, I am taking in the purple hues of the setting sun outside my picture window while the twinkly holiday tree emits pungent pine aromas. I am so grateful to have this time right now to enjoy all that is around me.
Is it possible to capture your moments of gratitude even while this holiday season is in full swing? In carving out a bit of time to reflect on all of your blessings, you may find yourself breaking out in a warm smile of joy and happiness!
