Where is your mind right now? Without judging the findings, chances are you may have been thinking about something in the future or trying to resolve something from the past. 

We are hard-wired to scan for problems and threats. Research shows that we spend about 50% of our waking hours in this state of mind called the default mode network. 

There is another way though and that is with mindfulness; being present to more moments of your day without judgmentas you live them. Is this a day that you can tip the scales and be present more than 50% of the time to what is happening, as it is happening?? You may be surprised with how wonderful it feels to live more of your moments fully.

Are you accepting your life as it unfolds a moment at a time? Can you allow whatever arises in thought, emotion and body sensation to be met with a welcome and open heart? So many of us want to cling to what is pleasurable and push away from what is painful. Mindful Self-Compassion practice helps us bring gentle attention to our full experience as it is lived, neither rejecting it or holding on too tightly. As I travel onto Cape Cod going over the bridge, I am struck with how fast our moments go by. I catch a quick glance at the canal dotted with boats of varying sizes. The next moments are met with the green, large topiary Cape Cod welcome sign. Cars are moving at various speeds as we all merge and find our exits off the rotary. So many moments to notice throughout the day. May you pause and reflect on how you are accepting your moments right now.
