Where is your mind right now? Without judging the findings, chances are you may have been thinking about something in the future or trying to resolve something from the past. 

We are hard-wired to scan for problems and threats. Research shows that we spend about 50% of our waking hours in this state of mind called the default mode network. 

There is another way though and that is with mindfulness; being present to more moments of your day without judgmentas you live them. Is this a day that you can tip the scales and be present more than 50% of the time to what is happening, as it is happening?? You may be surprised with how wonderful it feels to live more of your moments fully.

Waking early to view the sunrise, excitement built as we made our way toMarconi Beach in Wellfleet, MA. The horizon was becoming a vivid shade of pink as the sun was about to make its grand entrance. Not to miss the actual sunrise, I ran down the boardwalk capturing pictures along the way. The sun broke the surface on the horizon and streams of orange light dazzled across the sand. No sooner had that occurred, a massive cloud- cover obstructed the journey of the morning sun. It reminded me of the impermanence of life.  The anticipation of marveling at the filtering colors of the sunrise was shortened as long, puffy clouds covered the sun’s progression. Can we be in each moment taking in what is happening, then letting go and being present for the next moment too?
